Take-aways from our Advocacy Update zoom

Thank you to everyone who was available to tune in for Great Alaska Schools' 2025 Legislative Update and Advocacy Zoom. We're excited and inspired to advocate our hearts out this session. Some follow-ups:

  • There were lots of resources shared in the chat. Please see below for those links.

  • We have an education-friendly House and Senate but anticipate vetoes from the governor. It will take massive pressure from Alaskans on our legislators to get the supermajorities needed to override his veto.

  • More opportunities to testify will be coming up soon! Sign-up for action alerts if you haven't done so yet. (Please also check your spam and promotions folders and change the settings so that alerts show up where and when you want them.)

  • Other ways to make a difference include signing our petition, writing letters to the editor, attending legislative town halls, coming to Juneau, joining our Great Alaska Schools organizing team, organizing rallies, and recruiting friends and neighbors to the cause. Get involved!

We are an all-volunteer, non-partisan grassroots network - our strength lies in the power of our collective voices. Let us know how you'd like to get involved here

With appreciation,

- Great Alaska Schools organizing team
